Every profile on My Beloved carries a number: that person's compatibility with you. It is not a guess from a bio, and nobody typed it. It is computed from two birth charts, yours and theirs, and this is how.
A chart is a portrait of a moment
Your birth chart is the sky as it stood at the minute and place you were born: where the Sun, the Moon and each planet sat against the zodiac, and which sign was rising on the eastern horizon. Give us the date, the time and the city, and every system is computed at once. If you do not know your time, we place the Sun at noon and mark the chart approximate; the Sun and most placements are still right, and the rest sharpens the moment you find the time.
Synastry is what happens between two charts
Lay two charts over each other and lines appear: your Moon sitting on their Venus, your Saturn squaring their Sun, your Mars opposite their Mars. Astrologers call these aspects, and reading them together is synastry. Some pairs of planets matter more than others for how two people feel about each other, so each aspect is weighted, the whole is summed, and the result is the Western part of your score.
Western synastry is the part everyone gets, member or not. It is also the part that needs the least from a birth time, which is why it comes first.
The other lenses
Premium blends three more readings into the score, each from a tradition with its own idea of what makes two people fit.
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac and the twenty-seven lunar mansions, and a matching method that has been used for centuries: eight factors, each with a maximum number of points, thirty-six in all. We compute all eight, and we compute them in both directions, so the result is the same whichever of you looked first.
Human Design maps each of you into nine centres and sixty-four gates, then looks at what you complete in each other. Where one person carries a gate and the other carries its pair, a channel closes between you. Practitioners call it an electromagnetic connection. It is the part of a reading people tend to recognise first.
Gene Keys follows the same gates into three sequences and asks what shadows two people are likely to trigger in each other, what gifts they draw out, and what the highest expression of the pairing could be.
Astrocartography does not score anything. It draws where each planet's influence falls on the map, for you alone and for the two of you together, and tells you where a connection might be especially alive. It is there to explore, not to rank.
One scale, so the lenses can be blended
Each system produces raw numbers on its own scale. Vedic scores out of thirty-six; Human Design counts channels; Western sums weighted aspects. To blend them, we map every raw score onto one shared scale, using a reference set of thousands of pairs, so that seventy means the same thing whichever lens produced it. We call that calibration, and it is the reason a Premium score can honestly say "these four traditions, taken together, put you here".
You choose the lens that leads. Set Vedic as your primary system and the queue is ordered by it; hide a system you do not believe in and it leaves the blend. Free members see the Western score; Premium members see the blend, or the single lens they trust most.
What the number is not
It is not a prediction, and it is not a verdict. Two people at ninety can bore each other; two people at forty can change each other's lives. The score is a way of paying attention, an honest description of the ease and the friction two charts describe, and it is the order in which we introduce you to people. Chemistry still does what chemistry does. The chart gives you another way to understand it.
